Sooner or later you will buy “One Mind”, the grandmas will start whispering, and fleshy creatures will crawl onto your big cookie and begin eating your production. Your instinct will be to pop them immediately. That instinct is wrong, and this guide explains the maths.<\/p>\n
A wrinkler attaches to your big cookie and eats a share of your CpS<\/strong>. Your visible cookie income drops. Nothing is destroyed, though \u2014 every cookie a wrinkler eats is stored inside it.<\/p>\n When you pop a wrinkler, it disgorges everything it swallowed, multiplied<\/strong>:<\/p>\n The base case is the important one: a wrinkler returns 110% of what it ate.<\/strong> Letting wrinklers feed is a straight 10% profit, and more with upgrades.<\/p>\n The game limits you to 14 wrinklers at once<\/strong>. Once you are at the cap, no more spawn, and your CpS has stabilised at its reduced rate.<\/p>\n This creates the standard strategy:<\/p>\n Your displayed CpS looks terrible the entire time. Your actual accumulated wealth is growing faster than if you had no wrinklers at all.<\/p>\n Occasionally a golden, shimmering wrinkler appears. It pays out three times<\/strong> the normal multiplier. There is also an achievement for popping one \u2014 and a separate one for letting them be.<\/p>\n If you are achievement hunting, note that some players deliberately keep a shiny wrinkler alive rather than popping it. Check which achievement you still need before you click.<\/p>\n The Grandmapocalypse advances through stages as you buy One Mind, Communal Brainsweep, Elder Pact and so on. Each stage makes grandmas stranger and wrath cookies more common.<\/p>\n You can pause it with Elder Pledge<\/strong>, which temporarily calms everything and removes wrinklers \u2014 note that this destroys<\/em> them without payout in some versions, so pop first. Elder Covenant<\/strong> stops it permanently at the cost of a 5% CpS penalty.<\/p>\n Most players should not buy Elder Covenant. The wrinkler profit and access to Elder Frenzy (\u00d7666 CpS) outweigh a flat 5% loss by a wide margin.<\/p>\n During the Grandmapocalypse, some golden cookies become red wrath cookies. They can roll bad effects \u2014 Clot halves CpS for 66 seconds, Cursed Finger halts production for 10 seconds, Ruin eats part of your bank. But they are also the only source of Elder Frenzy (\u00d7666 for 6 seconds)<\/strong> and Devastation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n For anyone doing combo play, that trade is heavily in your favour. A \u00d7666 window dwarfs the cost of an occasional Clot.<\/p>\n Wrinklers look like a punishment and are actually a savings account paying at least 10% interest. Let them eat, let them cap out at 14, and pop them all before you ascend. The only genuine mistake is clicking them the moment they appear.<\/p>\n\n\n
