As you progress in Cookie Clicker and purchase the Bingo center/Research facility, you might notice things getting a bit… weird. The grandmas change, the background shifts, and strange red cookies start appearing. Welcome to the Grandmapocalypse.
What is the Grandmapocalypse?
It’s a mid-to-late game event triggered by purchasing the “One Mind” upgrade. Your friendly grandmas become corrupted, forming a hive mind that seeks to consume the universe in a doughy apocalypse.
Wrath Cookies and Wrinklers
During this event, Golden Cookies are replaced by Wrath Cookies. These have a chance to give negative effects (like halving your CPS), but can also give massive buffs like the “Elder Frenzy” (x666 CPS).
You’ll also encounter Wrinklers, leech-like creatures that surround your big cookie and eat your CPS. Don’t panic! While they eat your cookies, popping them returns all the cookies they ate PLUS interest. Let them feast, then pop them for a massive payout!
