Cookie Clicker Pantheon Guide: Best God Setups for Idle and Active Play

Level a Temple with a sugar lump and you unlock the Pantheon, where you slot spirits into three positions for permanent passive effects. It is the most “set and forget” minigame in Cookie Clicker — and because the slots are swappable, it is also the one where matching your setup to your playstyle matters most.

How the slots work

There are three slots — diamond, ruby and jade — in descending order of strength. The same spirit gives a much larger bonus in the diamond slot than in jade.

Swapping spirits costs worship swaps, which refill over time. Early on you have very few, so avoid fiddling. Later you can afford to reconfigure between active and idle sessions.

The spirits that matter

Spirit Effect Best for
Mokalsium (Mother) Boosts CpS based on buildings owned Everyone — usually the default diamond pick
Jeremy (Ages) Boosts CpS the longer since your last ascension Long runs
Muridal (Labor) Boosts click power Active clickers
Godzamok (Destruction) Huge click boost after selling buildings Devastation combo players
Dotjeiess (Progress) Bonus scaling with progress toward next ascension Late in a long run
Rigidel (Order) CpS boost if buildings are in multiples of 10/20/50 Tidy players with lots of buildings
Selebrak (Festivities) Boosts seasonal effects and drop rates Achievement hunting during events
Cyclius (Cycles) CpS varies on a real-time sine wave (3h / 12h / 24h cycles) Players who log in at consistent times
Vomitrax (Decadence) Boosts CpS but reduces golden cookie effects Pure idle, never clicks
Holobore (Asceticism) Boosts CpS but reduces building count benefits Situational

Two setups that cover most players

Idle setup

  • Diamond: Mokalsium — flat CpS scaling with your building count, always relevant.
  • Ruby: Jeremy — rewards you for not ascending, which is exactly what an idle player does.
  • Jade: Vomitrax — you are not clicking golden cookies, so the downside costs you nothing.

Active / combo setup

  • Diamond: Godzamok — pair with mass building sales for the Devastation combo.
  • Ruby: Muridal — straight click power.
  • Jade: Mokalsium — keeps your baseline CpS respectable between combos.

Note that Vomitrax appears in the idle build and never in the active one. Its golden cookie penalty is severe if you actually click them.

The Cyclius question

Cyclius gives a bonus that oscillates on real-world time — three-hour, twelve-hour and twenty-four-hour sine waves, depending on slot. At peak it is one of the strongest spirits in the game; at trough it is a penalty.

It is only worth using if you play at predictable times and are willing to check where you are in the cycle. Casual players should ignore it — you will spend as much time in the trough as the peak.

Godzamok and the sell-buy trick

Godzamok’s boost scales with how many buildings you sold recently. Combined with the Devastation golden cookie effect (whose multiplier is also driven by buildings sold), this creates the strongest clicking window in the game:

  1. Slot Godzamok in diamond.
  2. Wait for Frenzy + Click Frenzy to overlap.
  3. Mass-sell a large stack of a mid-tier building.
  4. Click through the remaining seconds.
  5. Buy the buildings back.

You lose a little on the buy/sell spread. You gain orders of magnitude on the clicks. Practise it on a run you do not care about first — mis-selling your Prisms at the wrong moment is an unpleasant lesson.

Do not over-optimise

Worship swaps are limited, and the difference between a good Pantheon and a perfect one is smaller than the difference between having one and not. Pick the setup matching how you actually play, and leave it alone until your playstyle changes.

Play Cookie Clicker and level a Temple to open the Pantheon.
